Literatures and Cultures of Lusophone Africa: Aesthetics, Politics and Identities

The study of literary texts from various Portuguese-speaking African countries from colonial to post-colonial times. The focus will be on the relationship between literature, politics, cultural aesthetics, national consciousness and independence movements, and the continuous refashioning of African identities in the post-colony.
